Beach Hut
insurance

Beach hut insurance will protect your seaside property from common risks, including flood, theft, storm and sea damage, and more.

We offer specialist beach hut insurance to give you the cover you need, whether you use your beach hut yourself, or you rent it out to others. We want you to get all the cover you need at a truly competitive price. If you are a member of a beach hut association, we will give you a 10% discount on the price of cover.

We also make donations to beach hut associations. Last year our donations totalled £1,560 helping charities including the RNLI and Dorset Air Ambulance.

You won’t find our beach hut insurance on any price comparison sites. It is a specialist product which we will tailor to meet your exact needs. And if you just need public liability cover, we can help you there too.

What is included in our beach hut insurance?

Our core areas of beach hut insurance cover include:

  • Beach hut buildings cover, based on your hut’s rebuilding cost
  • Beach hut contents cover. This comes as standard for up to 20% of your beach hut’s building sum insured
  • Accidental damage to buildings and contents. We will also cover you for vandalism and malicious damage
  • Cover for replacement locks
  • Cover for storm damage, and for inundation by the sea
  • Up to £5 million liability to others (if you rent out your beach hut, for example, we can cover you for any personal injuries people experience while using your hut)
  • If you rent out your beach hut, we can also cover you for loss of rent up to 20% of the building sum insured

There is no excess to pay on any claims, and we do not specify any security requirements for your beach hut. We can even cover your travel expenses following an emergency situation.

What is excluded in our beach hut insurance?

Unfortunately our beach hut insurance will not cover:

  • Buildings sum insured, exceeding £40,000 or £50,000 for chalets
  • Beach huts used for commercial purposes other than holiday lets
  • We cannot cover any beach huts made from non-standard materials. Standard materials include brick, metal, concrete, timber and fibreglass

Beach Hut Association

We are proud to work alongside some fantastic beach hut associations and enjoy attending AGM meetings where possible, meeting members and discussing their insurance needs.

Please get in touch with us to discuss your needs. We are here to help you.
