James Hallam is an independent Lloyd’s broker with a dedicated team of experienced insurance professionals who care about protecting your business.
Independent Lloyd’s broker James Hallam has provided catering insurance and risk management solutions to hundreds of pubs and bars across the UK since 1982. As well as public liability insurance for pubs and bars, we can also arrange specialist cover, via our bespoke Touchstone scheme, to meet your unique requirements, whether you run a traditional pub in a small village, or a pop-up bar at events.
What is pub and bar insurance?
Pub and bar insurance is specialist business insurance for pubs and bars. A pub and bar insurance package will include cover for you, your staff, your customers, your premises, and your contents for a range of risks.
If you serve food and drink in your pub or bar, you may need additional cover to account for the unique risks that arise from running a kitchen and preparing and serving food to the public.
You have a legal requirement to get employer’s liability insurance if you employ any staff. Your brewery may also require you to get some level of business insurance as part of your contract. Yet even beyond such obligations, running a pub or a bar is risky business, so all pubs and bars should consider getting adequate cover in place.
From a slip or a trip to a fire or a flood, the costs associated with even small incidents can quickly spiral. With dedicated pubs and bars insurance, you can rest assured that you will be fully covered for almost any of the risks you may face in your work.
Most bar and pub insurance policies will include public liability insurance and employer’s liability insurance. This will cover your staff, your customers, and other members of the public for any loss, illness, or injury they may sustain while on your premises.
Pub and bar insurance can also include:
On top of standard pub insurance, if you are a pub with rooms offering overnight accommodation, you will also need specialist cover to cover the other areas of risk you face. Including liability for your guests while they stay with you.
If you run a mobile or pop-up bar for events you will also need specialist cover that covers you for your various locations and the transient risks that develop from catering for different events and locations.
We understand the unique risks and responsibilities associated with running a pub or a bar. Choose James Hallam for your pubs and bars insurance and we will take the time to get to know you and your business, so that we can arrange a bespoke insurance package that gives you all the cover you need at a competitive price.
