Furniture manufacturing insurance
At James Hallam, we are dedicated to helping your business get the comprehensive furniture manufacturing insurance you need. Whether you are running a small artisan workshop and crafting bespoke items by hand, or you are manufacturing items at scale in a large factory, we can help you get specialist cover at a competitive price.
What is furniture manufacturing insurance?
This is specialist insurance for furniture manufacturers, to cover every aspect of your business. A single furniture manufacturer’s insurance policy can cover your stock and raw materials, your equipment and machinery, your staff, and more.
Your policy can also include product liability cover. If any of your items are ever found to be defective after you ship them, your policy can cover all of the costs associated with a product recall.
What insurance do furniture manufacturers need?
Some forms of cover are required by law. If you employ any staff, for example, then you are legally required to have employer’s liability insurance. Certain clients and suppliers may require you to have other forms of liability cover as part of your contract. Plus, you may be required to have buildings cover for your premises as part of your lease agreement.
Beyond this, you have no obligations to have any form of cover. However, if you manufacture any sort of furniture at any sort of scale, then you should consider comprehensive furniture manufacturer’s insurance to cover you for the many risks you will face in your work.
Without adequate cover, the slightest setback could ruin your business. But with cover, you would have the support and the resources necessary to recover from almost any event.
Liability insurance for furniture manufacturers
We specialise in tailored liability insurance for furniture manufacturers. This can include public liability, employer’s liability, and products liability.
Public liability and employer’s liability
This can cover your legal fees, and any compensation that may be due, if an employee or a member of the public sustains an illness or an injury while on your business premises.
Product liability
This can also cover your legal fees, along with any compensation payments, should any items of furniture you manufacture cause any accidents or injuries after sale. Product liability can also cover the costs associated with a product recall.
