What is driving instructor insurance?

This is specialist insurance for driving instructors, to cover the unique risks associated with teaching inexperienced drivers in a car with dual controls. We can provide tailored insurance solutions for both approved driving instructors (ADIs) and potential driving instructors (PDIs). Why driving instructors need insurance?

It is illegal to drive without car insurance but teaching someone to drive creates a couple of insurance complications.

  • You will be allowing an inexperienced driver to operate your vehicle, and that driver is very unlikely to have their own insurance.
  • Your car will have dual controls, which may make potential repairs more difficult.
