Contractors’ all risk insurance can cover a construction project for a multitude of risks. However, you must not assume that a contractors’ all risk insurance policy will truly cover you for all risks, no matter what the name of the product implies.
Depending on the policy wording, you may need to invest in other policies to ensure that you have no gaps in your cover. In addition to your contractors’ all risk insurance policy, you may also need public liability insurance, professional liability insurance, employer’s liability insurance, and more.
Certain types of construction work may not be covered by your policy, including hot works and welding. You may need additional specialist cover depending on the specific nature of your construction project.
James Hallam is an independent Lloyd’s broker with a specialist team of experienced insurance professionals who are committed to protecting construction business. We will take the time to understand your construction project so that we can advise on the specific risks you are facing, while tailoring a bespoke contract works insurance package that meets all of your requirements at the best price.
