Latest Regulatory Update
On 17 July 2026, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) published guidance for customers of Anthony Jones (UK) Limited, advising customers to contact their insurer or underwriter to confirm that their policy remains valid and that any premium payments have been received. James Hallam is working closely with insurers to support affected clients throughout this process.

The FCA has advised me to contact my insurer directly. Should I still contact James Hallam?
The FCA has advised customers to contact their insurer or underwriter to confirm that their policy remains valid and that any premium payments have been received.
You are also welcome to contact James Hallam. We are working with insurers across the market and can help explain your position, support the transfer of your insurance arrangements where appropriate, and assist you in obtaining replacement cover if required.
Is my insurance still valid? Am I still covered?
In many cases, your existing policy remains in force.
However, every insurer is dealing with matters slightly differently. If your policy has been affected, we will explain the position clearly and help you find the most appropriate solution as quickly as possible.
Has my policy been transferred to James Hallam?
Not automatically.
Some insurers are transferring policies to James Hallam, while others require additional steps before this can happen.
If we need anything from you, we will contact you directly.
Why have James Hallam contacted me?
James Hallam has been asked to support clients affected by the situation at Anthony Jones.
Our role is to help protect your insurance arrangements and provide ongoing advice should you wish to appoint us as your insurance broker.
You are under no obligation to appoint James Hallam and remain free to choose any insurance broker.
I already paid Anthony Jones. What happens now?
If you have already paid Anthony Jones, please don’t pay again.
If required, we will ask you to provide evidence of payment so we can discuss this directly with your insurer.
Where appropriate, we will ask insurers to honour your policy.
Where has my money gone?
If you have already paid Anthony Jones, the current position is being reviewed between insurers and Anthony Jones, along with the regulator, the Financial Conduct Authority.
James Hallam has not received those premiums.
If evidence of payment is available, we will work with insurers to establish the correct position.
Will my policy be cancelled?
Not necessarily.
If there is any risk to your existing policy, we will explain the position and, where necessary, work to arrange replacement cover as quickly as possible.

I already have an ongoing claim
We would suggest contacting your insurer directly about any existing claims, and their details will be found in your policy wording.

I need to make changes to my policy. Can you help?
Yes.
Depending on your insurer, we may require a Letter of Authority before we are able to make changes on your behalf.
We will explain the process and guide you through it.
Do I have to appoint James Hallam?
No.
You are free to appoint any insurance broker of your choosing.
If you would prefer another broker, you may contact them directly or search via the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA).
Will James Hallam charge fees?
Any fees or charges will always be explained to you before you decide whether to proceed.
There will never be any hidden charges and on becoming a client with us we will share our Terms of Business.

What should I do now?
If you’ve received correspondence from us:
- Read any emails or letters carefully.
- Complete and return any requested Letter of Authority if you would like James Hallam to act for you.
- Provide evidence of payment if requested.
- Contact us if you have any concerns.
