Food manufacturing insurance
Get specialist food manufacturer’s insurance to cover your business for the unique risks you face in your industry. Whether you are a bakery, a distillery, a beverage manufacturer, a meat and poultry manufacturer, a frozen food business, a dairy, or any other kind of food and drinks business, we can help you get the cover you need at a competitive price.
What insurance do food manufacturers need?
Employer’s liability insurance can cover your staff for any accidents and injuries that may take place on your premises.
Public liability insurance can provide similar cover, but for members of the public who may visit your premises, such as tradespeople, deliver drivers, sales reps, and so on.
Tools, plant, and stock cover, as well as all risks insurance can cover your valuable machinery and equipment. This will cover you for repairs or replacements following fire, flood, theft, or other losses.
Product liability insurance is another crucial area of cover for food manufacturers. If someone gets ill or suffers from an allergic reaction having consumed one of your products, then they may take legal action against you. Your food manufacturer’s insurance could then cover any legal fees that may arise, along with any compensation that may be due.
Your manufacturer’s insurance can cover your commercial vehicles, along with your goods in transit, for any losses you might experience with your supply chain or your deliveries.
Why do food manufacturers need insurance?
Businesses in the food manufacturing industry face a number of unique risks and challenges. The food manufacturing process is a complex machine with many moving parts. If anything goes wrong with any part of the process, it can bring your entire operation to a halt.
Dedicated food manufacturing insurance can cover every aspect of your business, from your stock to your machinery, to your products after they reach the store shelves. Get comprehensive cover and you will have the means to respond and recover from any setback. But without cover, you may be personally liable for any financial losses that arise when things go wrong.
Why choose James Hallam?
James Hallam is an independent, family-run Lloyd’s broker. Since 1982, we have worked with all kinds of food manufacturing businesses to help them get the specialist cover they need at a competitive price.
We offer a tailored, personal service. We will take the time to get to know your business so that we fully grasp the unique risks you are facing. We can then help you find a comprehensive policy that covers all of your risks and meets all of your needs, including your budget.
