Coffee Shop insurance

If you run a coffee shop, a chain of coffee shops, or a coffee van, you need insurance that is tailored to meet the unique risks you face as a business. At James Hallam, we have been supporting coffee shops across the UK since 1982 with professional risk management and insurance services. We will get you the cover you need at a competitive price.

What is Coffee Shop Insurance?

We know that your customers want more than a good cup of coffee. They also want great customer service, an inviting atmosphere, and that personal touch that they just cannot get anywhere else. This is why so many baristas tend to go above and beyond. Your customers expect the best from you. So it is only natural that you should expect the best from your insurance.

We are an independent, family-run Lloyd’s broker, and we understand the unique risks you face as a coffee shop. We are here to deliver total peace of mind, helping you to deal with everything from major disasters to minor disruptions. When you do not have to worry about things going wrong, you will be free to focus on doing what you do best: Delighting your customers with the perfect cup of coffee.

What does coffee shop insurance cover?

  • Public Liability insurance for coffee shop – This provides cover should your customers, or any other member of the public, get injured while on your premises. It can also cover damage to property, such as if you accidentally spill a cup of coffee on a customer’s laptop.
  • Employer’s Liability insurance – This will cover your staff for any illnesses or injuries they suffer while on the job.
  • Buildings and contents insurance – This will cover your coffee shop premises for damages arising from fires, floods, and break-ins. It will also cover all of your equipment, whether you lease it or own it, along with your stock.
  • Business Interruption insurance – If an insured event, such as a fire or break-in, prevents you from trading, business interruption insurance can cover your overheads while all necessary repairs take place.

Coffee van insurance

We can also tailor your insurance package to cover the particular risks associated with running a coffee van. This can include cover for your vehicle, as well as public liability insurance for the sort of risks that you may not face in a static coffee shop – such as accidentally hitting someone when you open the hatch.

We are here to help.

Louise Kennon

Louise’s insurance career began in 1999, working initially as a Trainee in Private Clients within a community based Brokerage. She duly became a Commercial Account Executive in 2010. The Brokerage was acquired by James Hallam in 2017. Following further local acquisitions, a major restructure of the operations in Scotland was undertaken leading to a dedicated SME Department being formed in Dumfries.
