Bakery insurance

Since 1982, we’ve supplied dedicated insurance and risk management solutions to bakeries across the UK. Whether you’re looking for insurance for a single bakery, a chain of bakeries, or even a home bakery, we can get you the cover you need at a competitive price.

What is bakery insurance?

Bakery insurance is a form of business insurance for bakeries of all sizes. Whether you are running a small bakery business from your home kitchen, or a major commercial bakery operation with a nationwide distribution chain, you need a dedicated insurance package that meets the unique risks you face.

When you have bespoke insurance that is tailored to meet your exact needs, you can enjoy total peace of mind, and the freedom to focus on baking something beautiful for your customers.

What does restaurant business insurance cover?

The cover you need might be for a single bakery, or for a chain of bakeries and the accompanying storage and supply chain. This is why we work with you to build a bespoke policy to include:

  • Buildings and contents insurance – for your bakery premises along with all the equipment and fixtures it contains, whether you own or lease.
  • Your stock – so there is no need to worry about losing income if you lose stock in a flood or a fire.
  • Business interruption insurance – to cover your overheads if you ever need to temporarily close or relocate while repairs take place.
  • Public and employer’s liability cover – this will cover you for any claims your staff, customers, drivers, or any other individuals might make against you, should they get injured on your premises.
  • Product liability insurance – which will cover any claims involving illnesses or allergic reactions sustained as a result of eating your food.

Commercial bakery insurance

If you’re a commercial bakery, we understand that you’ll have a range of additional insurance needs. We work with you to understand the structure of your business and supply chains, and can advise you on how you can reduce your risk, as well as build a bespoke policy to protect your organisation.

Home baker insurance

If you run a bakery from your home, then your home insurance policy will not give you the cover you need. For full peace of mind, you will need dedicated home baker insurance. This will cover all of your equipment and stock for damage, loss, or theft. It will also provide the sort of public and employer liability cover that you simply will not get in a standard home insurance policy.
